Announcing the sixth annual Cranksgiving Topeka race

It’s time to give cranks! That’s right, it’s Cranksgiving time!

Topeka’s annual two-wheeled food drive is back for its sixth year at Burger Stand College Hill. Cyclists will have the chance to compete against each other in “Cranksgiving Classic,” or team up for a group event called The Haul.

The event hopes to raise more than 540 lbs of food — last year’s total — for the food bank at YWCA’s Center for Safety and Empowerment.

On Sunday, November 18th, registration starts at 1pm. Both the races, and The Haul start promptly at 1:30pm. Racers will have 90 minutes to complete their grocery list, and Haul riders will have two hours to fill up their bikes, bags, and boxes, and return back to Burger Stand.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Cranksgiving race.

If you’d like to support the event, but choose not to compete, please consider a contribution to Bike Topeka. Funds received this month will go toward Cranksgiving.

Feel free to follow along on Facebook, and join us on the 18th!
